As a little girl, I would pour over wedding cake decorating books at my aunt’s house. As I got a little older, I secured a job at the public library. When they would discard all of their old magazines, I’d snatch up all of the bridal ones, cut out all of the pretty pictures that I loved and sort them into coordinating themes. These days, I’m still doing it only in digital form. It’s a creative outlet for me to make inspiration boards that serve as big picture ideas to help set the look and feel for an event. It also serves as a resource to couples who are planning their wedding.
This inspiration board comes as an idea from our daughter. She saw me scouring the internet during some downtime and asked if anyone had ever done a “space themed” wedding. At first, I was like “What? Like astronauts and aliens?” She shook her head, laughed and said, “Mooooommmmm….” I’m sure there was some eye rolling in there, too. But the more we talked, I realized what she meant was deep blues, twinkling lights and stars and if we called it something like “Over The Moon” or “Starry, Starry Night” or “Celestial Wedding Inspiration”, it sounded so much more elegant and pretty than saying “space wedding”. Bwahaha!
This is the thing… Some people have a grand idea of what they want for their wedding but they have no idea on how to actually carry out a theme and not make it tacky or cheesy. OR, they have a great plan but no idea how to explain it to those who are helping them with the details. I’m here to help! 🙂 This is the second in one of our wedding inspiration boards.
